Message from the Chairman
The Administrative Professional Luncheon held Wednesday, April 27 was a huge success! We had nearly 100 honorees in attendance as we took a day to honor the people who make our businesses work. Debbie Jones, Belinda Campbell & Elizabeth Vance organized a very special event. Many thanks to Charlotte Derry & her team for the wonderful food; to the sponsors & contributors who donated a wide assortment of door prizes; the volunteers who setup the venue & served the meal; & to Thomson First United Methodist Church for hosting.
Next on the calendar is the 23rd annual Blind Willie McTell Blues Festival Saturday, May 7. Tickets are still available for $30 in advance, $40 at the gate. Elizabeth Vance & her team have an exciting lineup of performers for this year's festival. If you are of a mind to volunteer, we're sure Elizabeth can find a place for you! Contact the Chamber at (706) 597-1000 for more info.
Our Farmer's Market will kickoff Saturday, June 4. We're currently accepting applications for vendors. If you're interested, please contact Debbie Jones at the Chamber; space is limited.
See you at Blind Willie!

Greetings, On May 5, 2016, the Georgia Chamber is hosting a town hall meeting at The Snelling Center in Augusta that will focus on discussing our new initiative, Georgia 2030, an ambitious plan to expand Georgia's role in global commerce, cultivate a world class workforce, bolster economic mobility, improve long-term job creation, and support diverse, thriving communities. To pull this off, we need your help. I hope you will consider attending this town hall meeting. Lunch will be provided and you will have an opportunity to network with Chamber members and business influencers. We will also host industry focused surveys and discussions that will allow you to be part of leading the future of Georgia. It is my hope that this town hall provides your community with the beginning of a roadmap to shape the future of Georgia and your region.
If you have additional questions please contact Meg Lowe at [email protected] or (404) 223-2473. Sincerely, Chris Clark

Administrative Professionals Luncheon
|
The Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce hosted the 28th Annual Administrative Professionals luncheon on Wednesday, April 27
th at the Thomson First United Methodist Church (Family Life Center). This event is designed to treat those individuals that are the shining stars in their workplace. This is a way to say "thank you" to them for their hard work and continued service to their community.
We had approximately a hundred people in attendance to enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber Board of Directors and other volunteers from the community. The guests were entertained by singing from the three year old preschool class of Thomson First United Methodist Church. "The luncheon ran smoothly and was a tremendous success," said Skip Griffin, Chairman of the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber Board of Directors. "The honorees enjoyed a wonderful meal & our sponsors & contributors pitched in with a wide assortment of door prizes. Thanks again to our chamber staff & volunteers for putting on a great event!"
There were over sixty door prizes and many small favors for the guests to enjoy. Troy Jamison, City Executive VP of Regions Bank, presented the 2016 Administrative of the Year to Toni Watkins from Regions Bank. "Toni Watkins has been providing our community with financial advice, guidance and education for over thirty two years," said Mr. Jamison. "Mrs. Watkins has a proven record in completely satisfying our clients and helping them achieve financial success. She is truly a valuable asset or Regions Bank and our community". Mrs. Watkins received a gift bag along with a dozen red roses from Richards Florist in Thomson.
