WEEKLY SPECIALS

Kimbap Cafe Blend

When our friend Kim Hunter decided to open her Korean-inspired restaurant Kimbap, she wanted an Asian-inspired coffee worthy of her awesome, locally-sourced menu.  We delivered on that desire with one of the best new Indonesian blends we've done in years.  It has a big body and is syrupy and earthy with a twist of lemon in the finish.

The King's Daughters Inn

When Colin and Deanna Crossman asked us to provide coffees for the Inn, we were challenged to come up with a house blend that reflected the elegance of the property, while appealing to a wide range of coffee consumers.  In the case of the King's Daughters Inn blend, we utilize a beautiful, single origin, single estate Central American sourced from a family farm.  The base, medium roast coffee is an elegantly simple island flavor profile, rounded and slightly fruity. The small amount of dark roasts adds intriguing complexity, bringing hints of nuts and chocolate. Destined to be a classic.

Happy Thursday!

This week we are honoring some of our wholesale accounts.  Located at 111 Seaboard Avenue, Suite 118, in Seaboard Marketplace, near downtown Raleigh, sits a small, cozy Korean-inspired restaurant.  Kim Hunter, owner of Kimbap, uses fresh, local ingredients to create her delicious meals.  Our Indonesian blend was created specifically to compliment the Korean dishes.  Try a cup with one of Kim's amazing desserts!

The King's Daughters Inn is a luxury bed and breakfast located at 204 N Buchanan Blvd, Durham, NC.  Colin and Deanna Crossman came to us looking for a coffee blend that would compliment the history of the Inn as well as the environmentally sustainable practices that were so important to them.  After seeing our environmentally friendly roaster and tasting many blends, we finally agreed upon a melange that would suit everyone's palate.  We are proud to announce that Colin and Deanna celebrated the groundbreaking of their second lodging facility, The Mayton Inn, located in downtown Cary.  We'll be coming up with another coffee blend for them in the near future.

If you happen to spend time at either Kimbap Cafe or the King's Daughters Inn, please let them know that we sent you.

In other news, India coffee from Sethuramen Estate has finally arrived. This is a relationship coffee that Jim started buying after his 2010 trip to India. There is a sack of Liberica in there, one of only three in the country - talk about rare, and unusual! Look for them to be available soon, probably 1st week September.

And finally, we will be closed from August 20th-25th.  The time has arrived to take our daughters to college at Tulane University.  A quick note to our local customers, this Saturday,  August 16th, will be the last Saturday Emily and Courtney will be working at the market.  They would love it if you stopped by the Western Wake Farmers' Market to send them off with some well wishes!

Enjoy your weekend!

Jim and Debbie
