In-Studio Rehearsal
Thursday, 6/2

We are holding an In-Studio rehearsal on Thursday, 6/2 for select classes.

We want to be sure that younger classes and classes that meet in a smaller studio have one last chance to review their dance and work out any spacing issues before the stage rehearsal on Friday, 6/3.  It is important that everyone try to be there for their class' rehearsal time.

Please check the list for your class time.  Not all classes will rehearse on this date.

Don't forget...

May tuition is due by Thursday, May 12th.

All unpaid accounts will have the balance due charged to their payment method on file (credit card or e-check)
on Friday, May 13th.

You will not receive your pre-sale code for online ticket purchase until your balance is paid in full.

Families carrying past due balances will not receive a pre-sale code or be able to purchase tickets until their balance is paid in full.

We will monitor daily ticket sales and if families with past due balances purchase tickets before their account is paid in full, we will apply your ticket payment to your past due balance and release your tickets for sale.

Spotlight on Bob Fosse

"Fosse was one of this century's great choreographers. Though he forged his craft on the Broadway stage and on film, he was as much an artist as Nijinsky, Balanchine, or DeMille."- DFernando Zaremba
Bob Fosse is the namesake of our Fosse jazz company. He is known mostly for his distinct jazz style and Oscar winning choreography.
Here is a video of Fosse in action with his wife and muse, Gwen Verdon.

Volunteers Needed

It takes many people to pull together our annual recital.  Please consider volunteering your time during the Saturday or Sunday recital performances or the Sunday Shining Stars Showcase.

Sign up online or you can email Miss Carrie about volunteering.

We are always looking for more moms to help out in our dressing rooms during the show.  If your child performs both days, you can watch one day and help out backstage the other day.

We have a large number of young dancers performing in the Saturday "When I Grow Up..." show and will need lots of backstage moms to help with this show especially.

All BACKSTAGE volunteers will receive one free ticket to either show for themselves or a friend or family member.

We are also looking for ushers to help with programs and seating pre-show for all shows, parking monitor (keeping folks out of the fire lanes before the show), house managers in the auditorium during shows (helping to keep folks from walking in front of the videographer and monitoring doors during the performance to try and keep entrances and exits during dances to a minimum). Folks working as house managers do not to need to purchase a ticket to the performance.

We also need people to stay a few minutes after the Sunday show to help with clean up.

Please let Miss Carrie know if you are interested in helping out at all or if you would like more info about what is involved with each assignment.

Thank you to all who volunteer. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Stage Rehearsal Schedule

The Stage rehearsal will be held Friday, 6/3 at Haddam Killingworth High School. Each class has been assigned a time. There will be no regular classes 5/30-6/3. Students should come dressed in dance wear for the rehearsal. NO COSTUMES PLEASE. There is no food or drink allowed in the auditorium. Please keep all snacks in the lobby area. Parents are welcome to stay and watch the rehearsal, but please keep talking to a minimum.

Students should arrive 5 minutes before their scheduled rehearsal time.

We are on a very tight schedule and will not be able to wait for late dancers, so please plan ahead and allow plenty of time to get there.

All dancers are expected to attend the stage rehearsal and practice on stage with their class. Dancing on stage is very different than dancing in the studio and this spacing rehearsal is an integral part of helping students get comfortable on stage so the can give a great performance. If one member of the class is missing it will affect the whole class. Please let Miss Carrie if you have any conflict with your rehearsal time and can't attend.
