ATHLETICS
TRACK & FIELD
Milton Track & Field Qualifies Most Ever to State Meet!
GIRLS
Senior Riley Burr continued her march to Albany & the state championship with a new school record in the 800 meters (2:10.94) posting the fastest time of the meet.  She earlier was also a qualifier for the 1600m (3rd-5:00.81).  Then finishing off the day, Burr led off the girl's 4x400m relay that went on to break the school record!  The Lady Eagles team of Burr, sophomore Annie Gallagher, senior Amina Ali & junior China Cordier lowered the old record by close to 2 seconds ( 11th-4:03.93).  Also qualifying for the girl's state meet was junior Marie Repasy in the 3200m. Her strong effort ( 7th-11:30.61) was a personal best by over 7-seconds and moves her to the 4th-best ever in school history!  The GHSA girl's state meet is May 5-7 in Albany, GA.

BOYS
Senior Quin Lyles-Woods uncorked a 4-foot personal best (and 2nd best throw in school history) to win the discus competition! ( 1st-160'3") His throw won the meet by close to 10 feet!  Senior Jack Bluth qualified in two events with strong efforts in the 1600m ( 3rd-4:23.13) and in the 3200m ( 4th-9:27.00). Bluth's performance in the 3200m was the 2nd best performance in school history and over a 9-second personal best!  Sophomore Sam Bowers grabbed the final qualifying spot in the 3200m as well ( 8th-9:38.43).  One of the most exciting races of the day was the 800 meters where senior John Fravel finished a strong 3rd in his race but broke the school record! Fravel's ( 3rd-1:54.77) performance broke the old record by close to 3/4th's of a second. Junior Michael McCarthy ( 4th-1:55.26) was right behind Fravel and also eclipsed the old standard to remain the school's 2nd-best performer in the event!  Closing out the Eagle qualifiers for the boy's state meet to be held in Jefferson, GA May 12-14 was senior Justin Taylor in the 110m hurdles (5th-15.02), also running the 2nd-best time in school history that had stood since 1961!
