OUR CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Associate Professor Kingery-Page has been part of a PGASLA outreach effort this year which culminated in the first sequence of sessions at a Kansas City, MO middle school. PGASLA is one of several partners teaming with with Kansas City's  Center for Architecture & Design to offer  Explore Design,  an exciting design-based school program for local 6th-8th graders. This program consists of volunteers from the Allied Design Professions working with participating youth to explore a variety of design careers, experience hands-on activities, and develop critical communication skills. PGASLA members leading the effort to develop and implement curricula for l andscape architecture sessions  included Michael Killeen, Nina Butler (MLA '14), Miranda Schmidt, and Katie Kingery-Page. This team enjoyed launching  Explore Design  during April and May at  Alta Vista Middle School.
OF INTEREST
The Landscape Architecture Foundation Summit on Landscape Architecture and the Future will take place at the University of Pennsylvania, June 10-11, 2016. The Summit marks 50 years since Ian McHarg and other leading landscape architects composed LAF's seminal Declaration of Concern, which decried the burgeoning environmental crisis and heralded landscape architecture as critical to help solve it. Building on this legacy, this one-time historic gathering will culminate in a redrafting of the original 1966 Declaration of Concern and a landmark publication of the ideas presented. Registration is open now.

The Manhattan Historic Resource Board has two vacancies, one is filling Dede Brokesh's position. You can express your interest in the advisory board here.
