Waiting...it's one of my least favorite things to do, but sometimes it is inevitable. I love it when I get all the green lights on the way home, or when there is no one in line at the grocery store, or if I text/email someone a question and get an immediate reply.
Consider this:
"Happy are those servants whom the master finds waiting up when he arrives."
The Bible talks a lot about waiting. It seems to run through a lot of the stories, especially as we enter the season of Advent.
Waiting asks that we be patient and that is really hard sometimes. You might be late to class or to work, and if that person in front of you would just move, you could get on with what you need to do!
But it can have it's advantages. What if we chose to wait differently? What if we chose to discover that person in line ahead of us? What if we just took a moment to take in our surroundings; to be aware and give thanks? What would we find out about ourselves?
It's Advent. It's time to wait on God to deliver His only Son to us. As we enter this Holy season, take time to discover the person next to you. Take a moment to look around and give thanks.
Praying you find new discoveries
in the waiting...
