We've hit 100,000!

100,000 is a big number. Not impossibly big, but big enough to make a fuss about. That's why we're happy to announce that we recently hit the 100,000th trip over the life of our system! Read below to find out more about the member who reached this historic milestone. In this month's newsletter, you'll also find updated information on new station installations, including one of our older stations that we'll be moving.

And yes, we know it's actually October by now. Because Pope Gregory XIII decided that September would only have 30 days. What gives, Greg?

Celebrating 100,000 trips

Congratulations to Julia, who took the 100,000th Boulder B-cycle trip on September 8th on a bike sponsored by EKS&H! Julia rides using a corporate membership provided through her job at Google. She'll be receiving a massive prize pack full of tons of cool Boulder B-cycle swag, along with some gifts from our presenting sponsor, Kaiser Permanente.

Over the course of these 100,000 trips, Boulder B-cycle riders are estimated to have offset 170 tons of carbon, saved more than 13,000 gallons of gas, and burned more than 14,000,000 calories.

Thank you to all of our riders for made this milestone possible, and here's to the next 100,000!

10th & Walnut: Movin' on up, movin' on out

As part of our expansion plans, we will be relocating the 10th & Walnut station this week. Don't worry--you can still visit your old pal whenever you want in his new location on the farm, where he'll have plenty of room to run and play with the other B-stations.

And by "the farm," we mean Folsom & Colorado.

10th & Walnut was one of our original stations, and in the three years he's been in service, he just wasn't getting the love and attention we felt that he deserved in his current location.

Let's look on the bright side: Soon, you'll be able to B-cycle to Folsom Field for all your CU-related needs. Go Buffs!

Riders who have used 10th & Walnut in the past can still make use of 11th & Pearl just around the corner, and we're in the process of securing funding for an additional station at 9th & Pearl as part of a future expansion.

Keep an eye out on Twitter and Facebook for up-to-date information on this relocation.

Look at all these winners!

We've had a lot of winners recently from all the contests we've been running, including monthly ridership contests, Tour de B-cycles (or is it Tours de B-cycle?), and new station contests.

Some of our recent winners include Pau, who won a Boulder Beer prize pack in our monthly ridership contest; Rene, Laura, Joel and Jeff, who completed the Tour de B-cycle, and more than a dozen new-station riders!

The next winner could be you!

New station ridership contests

For each new station that we launch, we're giving away two sets of prizes!

The first ten annual or semester members to check out a bike from a new station will be entered into a drawing for a free t-shirt! We've got a brand new design celebrating our expansion that we hope you'll enjoy.

On top of that, the very first rider at each new station wins his or her choice of a water bottle or socks. Be on the lookout for new station announcements coming soon. You just might be our next winner!
