USEFUL TIPS FOR SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS/MANAGERS

-The Fifteen Most Powerful Words-

Words are important.  There are over one-half million of these in the English Language, but some are more important than others. Oddly enough, the most powerful words are not the words we use most often.

Texting, phone calls, one-on-one conversations, blog posts, comments on those blog posts, emails, social media posts, conference calls and video chats are good reasons to develop an extensive vocabulary.

Every one of those interactions features a language, specific words and word combinations that we hope will help to get us what we want and reduce the frequency of misunderstandings.

Consider using these 15 words to be a better leader, close more business and be a better friend.

The 15 most important words:
  • 'I am proud of you.'  5
  • 'What do you think?'4
  • 'Will you please?'     3
  • 'Thank you.'              2
  • A person's name is the most powerful word you can ever use with him or her.  1= 15

Young Touchstone Awarded a Department of Defense Award
ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) was established in 1972 as part of the Department of Defense. It promotes cooperation and understanding between civilian employers and members of the National Guard and Reserve. The ESGR are volunteers; there are 150 ESGR volunteers in the state and only three paid employees. The GSGR grants a series of Department of Defense awards annually, including those to employers who show outstanding support to Guard and Reserve employees. Young Touchstone is a finalist for the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. Young Touchstone would be the first West Tennessee business outside Shelby County to win the award. Young Touchstone was chosen from among 3,000 nominees nationwide to be among 30 finalists for 15 awards that will be presented August 16, 2016 at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
