I am looking forward to a very busy month of May!  The Chamber will be attending many exciting events this month.

The Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce is  excited to be hosting a luncheon on May 26th called "Strengthening Relations and Bottom Lines through Aboriginal Procurement" featuring keynote speaker JP Gladu,  President and CEO of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB). This is an event that you do not want to miss!    To register,  click here.

Jessica Dumas, the Chair of the ACC Board  and I will be visiting Brandon on May 24th to participate  in the Aboriginal Business Forum hosted by the Brandon Urban Aboriginal Peoples' Council.

The World Trade Centre Winnipeg is hosting Centrallia on May 25th to 27th. The Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to join 1000+ business leaders at this world class event.

Luncheon - Aboriginal Procurement - May 26th



        
On Thursday, May 26th, come and join The Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce at a luncheon featuring JP Gladu at the Delta Winnipeg.

The Private sector is catching on to the upside of procuring from the Aboriginal business pool.  Aboriginal businesses are expected to contribute $12B to Canada's economy by the end of this year, this is a super growth market representing 5.7% annual growth.  JP will be giving a perspective of the new reality of Aboriginal business and the opportunities for both the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal business communities.  
 
Jean Paul (JP) Gladu is currently the President and CEO of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) based in Toronto.  Anishinaabe from Thunder Bay JP is a member of Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek located on the eastern shores of Lake Nipigon, Ontario.  JP completed a forestry technician diploma in 1993, obtained an undergraduate degree in forestry from Northern Arizona University in 2000 and holds an Executive MBA from Queens University.
JP has over two decades of experience in the natural resource sector.  His career path includes work with Aboriginal communities and organizations, environmental non-government organizations, industry and governments from across Canada.
In JP's current capacity at CCAB, he speaks extensively not only across Canada but internationally as he shares the challenges and successes of Aboriginal business in Canada today.
