RILEY BURR WINS TWO STATE TILES!
BURRSenior and future Furman University athlete Riley Burr concluded her high school running career with victories in both the 800 meters & 1600 meters at the GA High School State Track & Field Championship Meet this past weekend in Albany, GA.
On the first evening of the meet, Burr captured the 1600m title in the 6A (largest schools) classification with a new school record and the meets fastest performance over all classes. Her 4:48.80 was a clear victory by over 5-seconds & a personal best and Milton school record by close to 6-seconds! After wining her semi-final race in the 800m on Friday, Burr then captured her 2nd state title by winning the 800m on Saturday in the meet's best performance in 2:10.60. That mark was again a personal best & new Milton school record breaking the existing mark by close to half-a-second. Riley's two  state victories are the first state titles at the girls meet since 2012 and the first in any running event since 1974!  These are only Milton's 5th & 6th state track titles in the history of the school.

Also competing at the state meet was junior Marie Repasy. Competing in the fastest 3200m field ever at the state meet, Repasy held her own and recorded a 3-second personal best of 11:27.07 to finish 12th in the field of 16 finishers.  Repasy performance is the school's 4th best all-time.
