Sage Day in Rochelle Park is back in full swing with a packed calendar of events for October. 

Our Student Council elections were held on September 18th and our President for his second term is Nick. Our Vice President  is Catherine (a.k.a. "Cat"). Treasurer is Marco and Secretary is Elma.

Progress Reports are scheduled to come out today. Parents can access their child's progress report utilizing Powerschool at the following website: saged.powerschool.com. 

They can then log on using their parent access ID and password that was sent to them in our August welcome packet.

Today, we will be having our annual soccer game. This year, we will combine our senior advisory homerooms with our freshmen advisory homerooms, while the juniors will be combined with the sophomore advisory homerooms. These four teams will meet outside on the field to compete for the coveted advisory Green Bear trophies. The team who shows the most team spirit will be treated to donuts the next morning during their advisory group. 

Picture Days will be October 7th and October 8th. This is also the time for parents to order a laminated photo ID for their student. This is especially helpful and most important for younger students who do not have a driver's license. Cost is $15. 

Rochelle Park is hosting a special presentation on internet safety on October 9th from

9:00 - 10:30. All the students and staff from our Boonton high school campus will be traveling to Rochelle Park to join us, as well as the 7th & 8th graders from our Mahwah campus. This presentation on Social Media Safety will also be made available to all our parents from all our campuses on the evening of October 9th at 7:00 p.m. at our Rochelle Park campus.

Sage Day will be participating in Lee Denim Day, where all donations benefit breast cancer research. For a $1 donation, students can wear hats and for a $5 donation, staff can wear jeans that day.

Mr. Montesano will be organizing a Senior Parent Night on the evening of October 16th at 7:00 p.m. He will provide information for parents about the college application process and how they can best support their child during their senior year. Mr. Montesano will also be discussing transition options for students, including: college, vocational schools, employment, gap year and how we can help our students prepare for graduation.

On Friday, October 17th, Sage Day's Mythbuster's Club will be taking their annual trip. This year, they will be traveling to Scranton, PA, to visit The Houdini Museum, that is inside a 100-year old building, that has been entirely renovated. The Houdini Museum features memorabilia, artifacts, mannequins and films of this master magician.
