BOOK SIGNINGS THIS WEEK
Unless otherwise indicated, author events usually begin with an informal reception at 5 pm, followed by the author's presentation at 5:30, with book signing both before and after the reading/talk.

5 pm, Tuesday, May 10 - Off Square

(Back Bay Books, pb. 18.99)

"Sally Mann, the some-time controversial photographer, has written this big, charming memoir digging back into her New England and Dallas family histories and frankly discussing her own eccentric upbringing and present life in pastoral Rockbridge County, Virginia. Beautifully literary but casually written, it's as if the wilfull, passionate Caddy Compson or her rebellious daughter, Quentin, had they been photographers, might have described their lives and art. Now out in paperback." --  LH

Sally Mann, born in Lexington, Virginia, is one of America s most renowned photographers. She has received numerous awards, including NEA, NEH, and Guggenheim Foundation grants, and her work is held by major institutions internationally. Her many books include What Remains, Deep South, and the Aperture titles  At Twelve, Immediate Family, Still Time, Proud Flesh, and The Flesh and the Spirit.
