Introductory Message from Director of Marketing, Robert Starkey
Robert Starkey
I'll never forget the call I received from my friend Traceye Jones from My Radio Central, asking a few hours of my time to help create a campaign video for a non-profit organization she is on the board for. I knew nothing of the organization - it's goals or mission.

That project opened the door to me as Director of Marketing at River Cities United Way, where it's now my mission to educate and bring brand awareness to our communities.

The roles are reversed and lately I've been working closely with the My Radio Central team to brand River Cities United Way through on-air commercials. We've been lucky to work with Carrie Hemme from Michael Alan Furnishings, as well as this year's Campaign Chair, Lisa Krueger from Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce.  Perhaps you've heard their commercials on KJJJ, KNTR, or KVYL?

If you have a personal testimonial we can share on-air,  I invite you to reach out to me. I can be reached at (928) 855-6333 or [email protected]
IMPACT STORY:   Girl Scouts (Bullhead City)

Stephanie's mother contacted the Girl Scouts frantically seeking services to help her teen daughter Stephanie whom, she felt, was headed down a troubled path - failing classes and had been caught shoplifting several times.

Stephanie shared she initially viewed the program as punishment, but quickly grew to love the environment and culture of the group as a fun, safe space where she feels challenged, accepted and loved. Over the last two years, Stephanie has evolved into a very vocal and capable group leader. She has invested in herself and her future by fearlessly accepting every learning opportunity offered to her in the form of Girl Scout camps, volunteering, and youth conferences, and discovered a passion for community engagement or as she phrases it "saving the world". She has even brought two younger sisters to join the troop since she would like for them to also benefit from the experience that "saved her life".

Stephanie attended Oxford Leadership Youth Program in London during the summer of 2014.  Oxford Leadership Academy and Girl Scouts-Arizona Cactus-Pine Council, Inc. created a partnership providing a high end program called Oxford Youth Leadership Development Program.

In addition to honing her leadership skills, Stephanie hopes of one day of achieving her Gold Award, a prestigious award that challenges girls to changes the world and represents the highest achievement in Girl Scouting.

Arizona Cactus Pine can be reached at (602) 452-7000 or on the web.
