I have 35 years of experience in commercial real estate. After earning my BA at The University of Michigan I went on to receive a JD from the University of Detroit - Mercy. I started my career as a young attorney in the Real Estate Department at Kmart Corporation here in Troy where I spent 16 years. I was promoted to a real estate executive position with increasing areas of real estate responsibility, including new store location. Since then I have held positions at real estate development companies, including the publicly traded DDR, and brokerage firms. I have been with Strategic Property Services, LLC providing brokerage and development services for two and a half years. One of our roles at SPS is securing investment real estate for people looking for a diversified portfolio (sometimes the best income tenant is the investor's own business). I feel most fulfilled when I help a business grow by finding the right facility at the right location at the right size and economics to maximize their return on a substantial investment of resources. Sometimes the best way to achieve that goal is by building a structure from the ground up.
Why did you join the Chamber?
Chamber membership provides business development opportunities through networking, education and emerging business trend information. These benefits are provided in an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie with other Chamber members. In return I have served as Co-chair of the Economic Development Committee and Chair of The Best of Troy Committee to aid in the Chamber's mission.
Something interesting about yourself...
I have a wide range of recreational interests that include skiing, mountain biking, yoga, golf, piano lessons and camping/hiking in the National Parks.
