THE DOWNTOWN SHERIDAN WAYFINDING PROJECT RECEIVED $50,000 FROM WYOMING MAIN STREET!

On Friday, May 6, the Wyoming Main Street Program announced that the Downtown Sheridan Association's request to fund new signage for the City of Sheridan is approved. The Wyoming Business Council recommended $50,000 of the requested $60,000 to fund phase one of implementing a county wide Wayfinding plan which was created in 2014. The signs will all consistently represent the new Sheridan brand and are being placed in strategic locations to promote our downtown, parks, museums, restaurants, shopping and many other amenities as well as to encourage and welcome travelers visiting and passing through the area. The Wayfinding Committee was a joint effort between the City of Sheridan, DSA and many other community partners.

ROLLS-ROYCE TO LIGHT UP THE DAWN IN SHERIDAN, WY!

SHERIDAN, WY - Sheridan Travel & Tourism announces that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars will light up the Wyoming countryside on June 2nd, 2016, with the Mountain West debut of the Dawn supercar. The launch will take place at the Brinton Museum, and offer guests an opportunity to experience the twin-turbo, 6.6-liter, V12 juggernaut in a setting that is quintessentially Rolls-Royce.

"A breathtaking vision of the New West, Sheridan is Wyoming's emerald city," says Shawn Parker, Executive Director of Sheridan Travel & Tourism. "In the Dawn, Rolls-Royce has crafted an automobile that offers the perfect balance between sophistication and freedom, one that embodies the best of life lived in Wyoming. I'm thrilled to welcome Rolls-Royce to Sheridan for a few days of western hospitality."

The Mountain West debut of the Dawn coincides with a Society of American Travel Writers chapter conference being hosted in Sheridan June 2-5. "With our diverse group of travel professionals (editors, journalists, photographers, broadcasters), Sheridan represents a destination steeped in tradition and rich in up-close opportunities and experiences that can be shared with readers from around the world," says Anna Hobbs, Chapter Chair. While in Sheridan, conference attendees will have an opportunity to explore Sheridan, the Bighorn Mountains, centuries-old guest ranches, our historic downtown, Indian battle sites, and beyond, and also test drive the new Dawn while visiting the Brinton Museum. Sheridan Travel & Tourism is putting together programs with local businesses that showcase all that Sheridan has to offer, from starry night state park drives, downtown dine arounds, craft culture experiences, pow wows, and more. "The Rolls-Royce Dawn is an exhilarating feat of engineering, and a car like no other, while Sheridan's unique blend of ruggedness and cultural cache make it the perfect place for an American road trip," says Elizabeth Williams, Rolls-Royce Product Communications Officer.

"Hosting an SATW regional conference as well as a Rolls-Royce launch is an opportunity for Sheridan to solidify its position as one of the country's most remarkable lifestyle and recreation destinations," says Parker. "The Wyoming experience lives in every ponderosa pine, alpine lake, worn-out saddle, and secret canyon in Sheridan. Life out here is authentically West, and a glimpse at Wyoming the way it was always meant to be."
