Co-op E-Updates
Shopper Survey Results
You may remember filling out an extensive online Shopper Survey for the Co-op this past March.  Thank you to the 520 Member-Owners and customers who took the time to complete this survey.  We spent much time over the past few months reviewing the results -- and we wanted to share a short summary of the results with you here:

Co-op Satisfaction is High
Overall satisfaction levels with the Co-op are quite high.  Over 80% of you are extremely satisfied or satisfied with our Co-op.  Also, over 85% of you are likely or very likely to recommend the Monadnock Food Co-op to a friend.  Thank you!  We're very pleased with these results!

Use of the Co-op as a Primary Place to Shop is Low
Only 25% of survey participants use the Monadnock Food Co-op as their primary place to grocery shop.  The survey suggested ways we can encourage more of you to do your shopping here: increase our product selection & variety and lower our prices.  We continue to work hard to improve in all three areas.  In terms of product selection, we collected 431 product suggestions and fulfilled 100 of them already.  We are working to bring in another 50 of your suggestions over the next few months -- and we will continue to bring in more over the next year.  Thank you for all this vital feedback.

Pricing is a Concern
Overwhelmingly, we heard that prices are a continued concern. We're committed to our values -- providing local, sustainable food options to our community and good wages and benefits to our staff -- but we also realize the need to keep our prices as competitive as possible.   We feel we have made great progress in this area, but there remains work to do.  One idea we're exploring is implementing a "Basics Program" where we would identify staple items throughout the store and ensure they are offered at rock bottom prices.  We are also looking into offering deeper discounts on some select sale items.  We definitely plan to continue our Co-op Deals and in store sales flyer program which offer some of the most competitively priced natural and organic product lines in our region -- so be sure to check out our latest flyers below.

Thank you again for offering your honest feedback -- we look forward to better meeting our community's needs.
Julia's Got the Beet!

Congratulations to Julia Cunningham - our third employee to receive the Monadnock Food Co-op's "Beet Award."

Julia was nominated by those of you who filled out a Helping Hands form.  She gives great customer service at the deli, always going the extra mile to make you happy.  Julia's strong work ethic means that when she gets her job done, she then, on her own, moves on to other tasks needed to keep her department running smoothly. She maintains a positive attitude and supports her coworkers -- thank you Julia!

The "Beet Award" is a quarterly award given to a Co-op staff member who most embodies the spirit of a great co-operator.  They display a friendly attitude, help others out without hesitation and are incredible ambassadors of our Co-op.

Staff Favorite: Smoked Maple Syrup

Matt West, Meat & Seafood Manager, gives a shout out for a unique new product in his department: Smoked Maple Syrup from Sugar Bob's Finest Kind in Londonderry, VT.  "We have used the smoked maple syrup in our house steak tip marinade since opening last April and it's been a huge success," shared Matt.  "This is a game changing, unique ingredient that can be used effectively in meat, seafood and poultry."

From Sugar Bob's Finest Kind's website:

Using food grade compressed air and venturi injection principles, we bubble low temperature maple and beech wood smoke through a finished vat of maple syrup for roughly 24 hours. Key aromatic notes and flavors are preserved while we refilter the infused syrup to deliver a clean consistent product for your cooking pleasure.
