What's New???
100% Wool Cat Beds

We have had cat caves for several years now and still have several different styles available, but when I saw these cat beds, I knew we had to add them to our inventory.
These are also individually handmade of 100% felted wool by the same craftsman in Europe who makes our cat caves.
They are on our website and ready to ship.

Inspirations #90

We have come to expect a world class, top notch magazine in Inspirations and this issue does not disappoint. I keep staring at the corncob on the cover and am amazed at the skill involved in creating such a piece of art. With the step-by-step instructions we, too, can try our hand at this.
It is called 'Garden Fresh' by Julie Kniedl.

Other projects in this issue include:

'Modern Crewel'  by Susan Porter
'Tulip' a Hedebo sachet by Christine Bishop
'Small Change' a Jacobean purse by Hazel Blomkamp
'Honey Bee' a goldwork project by Alison Cole
'Resting Place' a Hardanger whitework bag
'Tea for Two' - stitches floral teacups
'Blossom' a stylized flower stitched on small bag

This issue is on our website and ready to ship.
If you are a subscriber, you should already have yours by now.

Thread Pack Options

This Talliaferro design - la Serenissimo - was originally stitched Heathway wool threads. We have a source for these threads now and offer them with the pattern or just as a thread pack. That is.... a package of the Heathway threads required to complete this project.

In the instruction packet, there is also an option to use Appleton crewel wool. We offer packs of both - sold with or without the pattern.

Inventory Highlights

Wool Dryer Balls

These 100% wool dryer balls are a natural, eco-friendly laundry product.
They help circulate and separate clothing while tumble drying.
Wool is used because of its incredible properties.
The friction of the balls against the fabric makes clothes fresher and smell cleaner because wool has the ability to absorb toxins and odors.
Reduces static and drying time. Replaces commercial dryer sheets. Handmade in USA using 100% domestic wool.
I haven't done laundry in years without them.

Appleton Color Cards

Do you ever have trouble getting just the right color match? Many times the online color charts just don't work well enough, so Appleton has produced their own box of color cards.
It's the best way to get that exact match or perfect shade you need.

There is a small snippet of thread for every color attached to a card with other shades is the same 'family' ranging from light to dark. (see lower right)

The snippets are in the tapestry weight, because it is easier to see the color, but all the colors are the same in both crewel and tapestry weight.

We get these color cards right from Appleton in the UK and offer them with or without the box.

This 'n' That

Here's where you'll find a little of "this 'n' that" - things worth mentioning, but just didn't fit in a category or warrant it's own category.  This month .....

.... I'm still playing 'catch up' after being away for the past couple of weeks. I took our grandchildren to Europe to introduce them to our family there and show them where and how I used to live. It was a trip to make memories for us all. Thank you all for your patience! I should be all caught up with orders in the next day or two.

....Welcome to our newest Appleton Club member - Debbie D. Shipments will go out later this week.

In closing....
The old saying...'April showers bring May flowers' is at least partly true in my part of the country. We don't get much rain, but we do get an overabundance of flowers in May.
My yard is in full bloom!
Flowers make me smile!

Scan the small box with your smart phone and our entire website will come up
