DEAR MEMBERS & FRIENDS:

The ACM-NAMAC CONFEERENCE was a GREAT SUCCESS!

The national Alliance for Community Media with the National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture (NAMAC) was an enlightening experience. We had the opportunity to hear from their members and make some new friends who work in other forms of non-commercial media. I particularly liked that you could attend any workshop and they were well put together with many different points of view.

One of the best moments was hearing directly from FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn that she is understanding of the need to preserve community media and stands in our corner. This is just one example of how the Alliance of Community Media has worked to make our voice heard in Washington.

The Alliance is making changes to the dues structure and the relationship with its affiliates to strengthen and broaden the organization's scope. If you have any questions about this, please contact our national office or a member of the national board of directors at http://www.allcommunitymedia.org/

Next year, the conference returns to the west coast:
Pasadena, CA from August 14-16, 2015
What a wonderful time to work and plan a vacation. If you have not yet renewed your membership, please email Jackie Kastner from the management team: jkastner@allcommunitymedia.org

Sincerely,

Karen Hayden

ACM-NE Chair
