Why We Love Our Work!
An evaluation from a nine year old in a community service workshop:
|
"This was a great once in a lifetime experience. I had a lot of fun. I've done one before but I think this one was more fun. It was kind of complicated but I know that I did my best. Congrats BGE for your 200 year anniversary. Thanks for coming here, I appreciate it!!!!!!!!"

A Retreat Fit for Leaders
Students in Art with a Heart's Art of Leadership Program attended their first group retreat this month.
Students shared stories, worked to identify their leadership values, and discussed issues facing the Baltimore community. In addition to the work, students had
plenty of time for fun and enjoyed a ropes course, kayaking and making s'mores during an evening bonfire. It was clear by the end of the weekend that the leaders had grown personally and as a community.

Participants from Youth Empowered Society (YES) have enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside individuals from BGE, Erickson Living, City Neighbors High School, Bigs and Littles and Transamerica.
Through this process, job program students are engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds. One of the YES students shared, "When I am at HeARTwares, I jump out of my shell!"
