Flowers for UU Traditional Flower Communion on May 1
If you have them available, please bring flowers for the Flower Communion. Flowers to share are appreciated as many of our members don't have gardens. But come regardless of whether you have a flower; there is an abundance of blossoms for everyone.

World Records, Bylaws, & Name Change
Thank you to Dave Weigel for an efficiently run and well organized Annual Congregational Meeting. It was a world record for Sky Island UUC.  We almost finished before we started!

Thank you to Jerry Beale for all his persistent and meticulous work on the revision of the bylaws.  They have been adopted.

The Corporation Commission has approved our name change from Unitarian Universalist Church of Southeastern Arizona to Sky Island Unitarian Universalist Church.  Thank you to Dave Weigel for his work on making this name change official.

Paying It Forward, Celebrating diversity - A Multi-generational Flower Communion

Rev. Linda Lawrence, Terry Zapatocky, and a cast of characters will initiate the May worship theme, Future Earth, with story, song, crafts, and dance. We will end the service with a traditional UU flower communion. Bring a flower if you can, but if you can't, come anyway.  There will be enough flowers for everyone!

Poor Archy's Almanack

One hundred years ago this spring, journalist and poet Don Marquis created Archy the cockroach and Mehitabel the alley cat to fill space in a newspaper column.  Over the next twenty years, Archy and Mehitabel provided America with clear-eyed yet charitable observations about the world and the human predicament. Two years ago this summer, I brought them back to help 21st century Americans deal with the troubled times in which we find ourselves.  So what's the news from Shinbone Alley this week?

The church's financial position, as reported at the annual meeting, shows us with a net worth (on paper) of just over $464K. We have $37,830.95 in our various cash accounts as of 3/31/16. This is $5,000 more than we had in those accounts when we started the fiscal year on July 1, 2015. (Submitted by Tricia Gerrodette)
