Graduation- May 7th

The Honors Day Convocation was held Thursday, April 7 at 11:15 a.m. in Alexander Campbell Auditorium.  Graduates processed into the convocation in cap and gown.
 
The Pinning Ceremony for Nursing Graduates will be Friday, May 13 at 2 p.m. at Madison Park Christian Church in Quincy, Illinois.
 
Rehearsal for Commencement will be Friday, May 6 at 8:30 a.m. beginning in Charles Field House.
 
Baccalaureate will be Friday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Alexander Campbell Auditorium. Graduates wear caps and gowns to this service.
 
A Continental Breakfast for graduates and guests will be Saturday, May 7 from 8-9:15 a.m. in the Cafeteria.
 
Commencement will be Saturday, May 7 at 9:30 a.m. OUTSIDE ON THE LAWN OF THE QUADRANGLE OVERLOOKING THE RIVER.  In case of forecasted inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in Charles Field House. The decision on moving the ceremony to Charles Field House will be made on Thursday morning, May 5. Please make sure to watch the website and email for announcements. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.  Reserving or saving seats will be allowed on a limited basis when the seating area is opened on Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. Tickets are NOT required for the outside ceremony or in the field house.

The academic year is almost over, and your student may be asking you to pick them up for summer break!
Students that are not graduating will have their last class on Friday May 6 th and are expected to depart from the residence halls and Greek houses by 6 pm that day.
Students that are participating in commencement are expected to depart Saturday May 7 th by 6 pm.
If your non-graduating student would like to stay for graduation, the Office of Student Life has opportunities to participate in the ceremony as an usher or flag bearer. 
China Three Week Travel Study

Nineteen students from Culver-Stockton College along with two professors are taking exotic and faraway places and turning them into a common experience by traveling to China from April 22 through May 1. They travel halfway around the world, because they wish to further their understanding of China's historical and medicinal background.   Check out how the students are doing on  the Quincy Herald Whig blog. 
Stadium lights installed at C-SC
"We are very grateful to the donors who made these lights a reality and it continues the tremendous progress that our school has made in regards to our athletic facilities in the past few years," C-SC Athletic Director Pat Atwell said. "We can't wait to play our first football and soccer games under the new Musco lights."
C-SC Spring Athletics
Team Success
Softball is currently 29-15 overall and is guaranteed a top four-seed in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament, which will be played May 5-7 at the Blue Valley Recreation Complex in Overland Park, Kan. The 29 victories are the most since they won 31 games during the 2004 season.
 
Baseball is currently 23-26 overall and 16-12 in conference play this season. The baseball nine close out the regular season Friday and Saturday at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. Game times are 1 p.m. each day. The Wildcats will play in the conference tournament May 5-10 in Joplin, Mo.
 
The women's golf team has played well this spring and specifically Lucy Clark, who has twice been named the conference golfer of the week. The Wildcats compete in the conference championship Monday and Tuesday, May 2-3, in Nebraska City, Neb.
 
The men's golf team has played really well and is set to defend its conference championship May 9-10 at Swope Memorial Golf Course in Kansas City, Mo. Junior Ryan Keller, the defending Heart individual champion, has also been named the conference player of the week two times this season.
 
Track and Field has set numerous school records this season and several student-athletes are close hitting qualifying marks that would send them to the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 26-28 in Gulf Shores, Ala. The Wildcats are slated to compete in the Heart Championships May 6-7 at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.

C-SC Hires New VP of Advancement & Alumni Relations
Bill Sheehan
Culver-Stockton College will soon welcome a new member to its senior leadership team. Dr. Bill Sheehan, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Westminster College in Fulton, Mo., has accepted the new role as Vice President for Advancement. He will bring professional experience in fundraising, alumni relations and public relations.

Dr. Sheehan graduated from the University of Missouri with a Masters of Education in 1987 and a Doctorate of Philosophy in 1997. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Central Methodist University in 1984.

Projects to be completed
This summer we have several projects on the list  to get completed.  

On the list for the summer we have: 
  • the installation of a new large freezer for Dining Services;
  • new window installation in Stone Residence Hall; 
  • Chi Omega House bathroom remodel; 
  • painting the front of Wood Hall, Turley Hall (Sigma Sigma Sigma House), and Weldon;
  • McDonald Hall south side bathroom and floor remodels; 
  • Mabee Wellness & Recreation Center landscaping.
