St. Paul's Church

April 29, 2016

When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, "Surely the  Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it."
He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven." (Genesis 28:16-17)

Dear St. Paul's,

We are very excited that we will have the groundbreaking ceremony for the Flamevine Church on May 7 th at 5 p.m.  It has been an amazing journey which has brought us to this awesome place, and we can't wait to see what the Lord does next!

  Dedication Sunday with Bishop Ron
Bishop Ron Kuykendall will join us for the occasion as we pray over that land and set it apart for the Lord's sacred purposes.  From that spot, the Lord will establish His firm foundation for bringing Christ to the world through the power of the Holy Spirit.  From that spot, the Lord will reveal Himself to children and young families.  From that spot, the Lord will bring physical, emotional, and spiritual healing to the sick.  From that spot, the Lord will send out missionaries to bring the Light of World to all the nations.

     Closing on the property
Please join us at the groundbreaking!  And please invite any friends to join us as well.  We know there is already a great deal of excitement in the neighborhood about what the Lord is doing.  The Lord's arms are open wide, and so are ours.  And please continue to pray for those who are involved in the construction of the house of God, the gate of heaven.

Gratefully in Christ,

Pr. Jon

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
NDP_Theme-PPSlide.jpeg

Join Pastor Jon on the steps of the VB City Hall building for the  65th annual National Day of Prayer,  May 5, 2016 at noontime.  It will have profound significance for our country.  It is an unprecedented opportunity to see the Lord's healing and renewing power made manifest as we call on citizens to humbly come before His throne.

The theme for 2016 is Wake Up America, emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to return to the God of our
Fathers in reverence for His Holy Name. To further highlight our
theme, we've chosen Isaiah 58:1a as our Scripture for this year:
"Shout it  aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. "

At this crucial time for our nation, we can do nothing more important than pray.  Thank you in advance for making this spiritual discipline a personal priority and for standing with us as we encourage others to incorporate prayer in their lives.  The Lord has graciously anointed our efforts, empowering them to touch and change many hearts and lives.

Sunday AM Bible Study
"The Book of Revelation" adult Bible study, led by Bill Proctor, meets each Sunday morning at 9:00 AM. This is an ongoing program,  no sign up is necessary.  Bring your Bible.
The class will break for the summer beginning May 29th.

"Life as a Journey in Pilgrimage"
Having finished the allegorical pilgrimage of "Pilgrim's Progress," Lorne and Tom invite you to join them in a four-week virtual pilgrimage of the Holy Land.  Using Scripture and slides, they will lead you on that sacred journey. Class members will be invited, if they've been to Israel, to share their pilgrim moments, memories of those "thin places" where heaven and earth are so close.  All are welcome, though, whether you've been or want to go on this November's trip or may want to go some day.  Join us on the journey.

Wednesday Night Bible Study
This class is suspended for the summer.  Watch for details in the fall when it will resume.
SKIMMERS

The Skimmer's ministry continues to meet every Wednesday night at Bethel Creek from 6:00 - 8:00.  The beautiful weather will allow us to start spending some of our time at the beach.  The children look forward to skim boarding, surfing & swimming.

For the next several weeks we will be studying the 12 disciples.  These twelve men changed the face of the world because they encountered Jesus and chose to follow him.
