DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE . . . null

Five years ago, young girls in Kendu Bay, Kenya dreamed of a safe place to be mentored - to learn about personal hygiene - and to speak out about issues such as sexual harassment and violence.  TODAY THAT DREAM IS  REALITY.

Kenya Self-Help Project pioneered a structured Girls' Club at one primary school in 2009.  Today, all of our 23 primary partner schools have thriving clubs.  2,000 adolescent girls are now LIBERATED by receiving Dignity Kits of reusable sanitary supplies - and over 3,000 young girls are MENTORED through weekly club meetings.

The VALUE girls receive goes far beyond $1/mo per girl KSHP spends. Our skills training and supplies are LIFE-CHANGING.  Just look at the DIFFERENCE this social empowerment program makes:
  • TEEN PREGNANCY:  DOWfrom 40% -> to .04%
  • ZERO pregnancies at partner schools this year.
  • DROP OUT:  DOWN from 45% -> to 0%
  • ZERO drop outs at partner schools.
