Preview Information
It's time for the next step in your transition to being a student at Mount Union - Preview! Throughout your time at Preview, you'll not only meet faculty members, but also staff, current students and many other transfer students!

Preview is required for all transfer students, so be sure to visit the website TODAY to learn more about the experience and to register for your Preview on Thursday, August 18. When you register for Preview, you'll also be completing some academic information, so be sure that you have at least five minutes to devote to this process. Also, you'll need your Mount Union username and password to complete this form, as you'll be prompted to provide that information. Be sure to type campus\ prior to your username when you log onto the site.

If you have trouble with the registration form or questions about Preview, please feel free to contact Melissa Turk, director of first year initiatives, at (330) 823-4489 or [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you at Preview!
Financial Aid
Mount Union's Office of Student Financial Services is here to help you and your family work through the financial details of becoming a student on campus. The University knows that financial aid is of huge importance to families, so our team is here to help! There is a lot of information on the financial aid website, so be sure to check that out.

To get started, if you haven't already, be sure to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you have already completed the FAFSA, make sure you log back in and confirm that Mount Union is added to your list of schools. Most of you have already received a financial aid package from Mount Union, which is put together after the University receives your FAFSA information. There is a lot of information in that packet, and members of Mount Union's Office of Student Financial Services are happy to talk with you more about that! We encourage you to set up a phone or on-campus appointment to get all your questions answered about financial aid. You can reach the Office of Student Financial Services at (877) 543-9185.
Housing
Your housing assignment cannot be completed until we receive the New Student Housing Application. This information is used in making room assignments, so it is important for you to be as complete and accurate as possible about your living habits and personal interests. The residence hall preferences you list are only preferences. Although we try to assign you to your first or second choice, we cannot guarantee this. As a transfer student, you can request to live in the townhouses or apartments if you have 4 semesters of full-time college experience (not including post-secondary or dual credit experience) or 58 credit hours, but please understand that space is very limited. Otherwise, as a transfer, we will try to accommodate you in the suite-style buildings with other upperclassmen. You can request a single, but please understand that singles are limited and only available in the traditional style halls. If you would like to request a specific person to be your roommate, list their full name. That person must also request you as his/her roommate before the two of you will be assigned together. You will be notified of your roommate assignment by the first week of August.

If you have 4 semesters of full-time college experience (not including post-secondary or dual credit experience) or 58 credit hours, you may also choose to live off campus in Alliance. Anyone whose permanent home address is within 45 miles can commute from their parents' home. In either case, you need only to complete the first 5 questions of this form and submit it. Even if you will not be living on campus, it is important that you return this form, as we need to collect emergency contact information and will use the information you provide in the campus directory. If you have any questions you can call us at (330) 823-7288 or email at [email protected].
Meal Plans
Transfer students living in a residence hall or a campus house are required to select one of the six meal plan options for the fall 2016 semester. Commuter and off-campus students have the opportunity to select any of the meal plans options but are not required to do so. If a meal plan is not selected for the fall semester for any student living in a residence hall or campus house, the student's meal plan will default to the unlimited plan. The last date to make changes for the fall semester is August 26, 2016. If you wish to change your meal plan before August 26, 2016, please contact the Campus Card Office at (330) 823-2881 or visit the card office in the Hoover Price Campus Center.
Billing
If you haven't already, you will be receiving quite a bit of information from the Office of Business Affairs. This packet will include:

Payment options brochure that will help you calculate your out-of-pocket tuition expenses for your first year.

  • FERPA release that will allow the Office of Business Affairs to speak to only those persons you authorize (typically parents or guardians) about your tuition and payment arrangements. This is NOT an academic FERPA. This release will only authorize release of financial information.
  • Federal Title IV Authorization form, which will allow the Office to use any federal monies you receive to cover the cost of tuition and board, as well as other miscellaneous fees you might incur, and to hold any credits on your account until a refund request is made.
  • Tuition Payment Agreement, which is an agreement between the student and University regarding payment of tuition, room and board, costs, fees and expenses (if applicable). All students upon enrollment are subject to this agreement.
All three forms need to be signed and returned to the Office of Business Affairs by July 31. Please contact the Office with any questions at (330) 823-6557 or (330) 829-4137.
