New Research and Graduate Programs Appointments
Dr. John W. Newcomer has been appointed Vice Dean
for Research and Innovation at the Charles E.
Schmidt College of Medicine. Serving as a vice dean for the
college since 2012,

has successfully led a number of key initiatives and upgrades for college infrastructure including the recruitment of nationally and internationally recognized faculty.
In his new role, Dr. Newcomer will continue to support research infrastructure and operations, as well as the expans
ion of graduate programs, while focusing on the growth of excellence in research and innov
ation within the college and across FAU.
Dr. Newcomer will continue to build strong ties to FAU's new research institutes developed under the strategic
plan, and work with external
stakeholders to expand opportunities for the commercialization of our research discoveries.
Dr. Marc Kantorow's title has been changed from Director of Graduate Programs to Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs. We look forward to the continued growth and advancement of our biomedical master's degree program and Dr. Kantorow's decanal appointment will help to ensure the program's continued success.
