   Reproductive Justice Walking Tour 

 

Cindy Cooper of Words of Choice brought together actors, clergy, historians, and activists on a Reproductive Justice Walking Tour in NYC on June 7th, 2014. Sites in Lower Manhattan involved performances on the street, historical sites, current politics, and a Reproductive Justice Fair at the end at Judson Church where Rev. Moody started the Clergy Consultation Service to help women find abortion services prior to legalization. Watch this great 13 min. movie on the Walking Tour:

ACP's Grant Program seeds change in our culture through support of start-up innovative projects that creatively 

challenge abortion stigma.

Other ACP Grantees Bust Stigma

Our Bodies, Our Bikes: Women's Health and Wellness On and Off the Bicycle has chosen an essay on abortion from a writer in Northern Ireland with the help of an honorarium funded by an ACP grant.  

 

Meghan Smith is the founder of the Repeal Hyde Art Project, which uses participatory art to bring attention to the lack of Medicaid funding for abortions. Now she is training young women in leadership skills to carry the campaign to college audiences.

The Peace Foundation in Pakistan have created a mailing list of 4500 people and have started a unique text program to communicate abortion information in rural areas. 

 

Emily Letts, videographer of her own abortion, is encouraging others to tell the story of their abortion on the site Not Alone.
