Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As I conclude my first full month as
Saint Luke's Foundation President and CEO,
I want to formally greet the Foundation's
many friends, colleagues and constituents.
I especially want to express my immense gratitude for the outpouring of congratulations and encouragement that I have already
received from so many of you as I begin
this exciting journey.

I was privileged to serve an amazing 15 years as President and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, a Foundation grantee. I will always treasure the relationships I built both inside
and outside of that organization, as well as the opportunity it afforded me to get to know this community. While it was difficult to leave the Food Bank after so many great years there,
I am thrilled about the chance to work with the talented staff at the Foundation, and to
continue to serve the needs of our community.

From my first day on the job, I have met and engaged with Foundation grantees, community stakeholders, colleagues and government leaders throughout Greater Cleveland. I will continue meeting with our grantees in order
to learn more about the tremendous work they do in the communities they serve, and I will connect as well with colleagues, partners and stakeholders in the weeks and months ahead.
I learned a great deal about our community through my work at the Food Bank. And yet, there is so much more to learn in my new role.

These are exciting times for the Foundation. Since 2012, our revised grantmaking approach has enabled us to forge deeper ties with grantees and make larger investments in
truly transformative initiatives. Our priorities
of Healthy People, Strong Communities and Resilient Families continue to set a firm foundation for this approach.

I am eager to find out more about your work. There are more partnerships that we can explore in an effort to further our mission
and goals. The Foundation's tradition of continuous learning, and its culture of compassion, innovation, collaboration and involvement drew me here in the first place.
In my role as President and CEO, I will strive
to ensure that these virtues remain part of
our DNA.

We are here to fuel real change and make
a lasting impact. We still face formidable challenges as a community; but the Foundation's board and staff are experienced, caring, wise, and fully engaged in the effort
to improve and transform the quality of life throughout Greater Cleveland. I am thrilled
and honored to be a part of this effort with you.
