The race!
It encourages us to train harder.
It gives us the opportunity to show what we can do.
It keeps us motivated...it makes us nervous.
It allows us to shine... it makes us humble...
It always teaches us something...if we let it...
Having a perfect race is what we all want...no extra struggles... no distractions...just hard work, sweat, good pain and at the end...glory!
Unfortunately this is not always reality. The fact is that races rarely are that perfect.
Regardless of the outcome of the race, regardless of the challenges and the difficulties that we face...we can always MAKE it a good race!
It is the mind, the mental state, the way we perceive and react to things that are not planned, the way we approach a challenge, a problem or anything that is unexpected or difficult ... what is going to define the experience of the race!
Our mind can turn around the perception of the whole race like a switch.
It will not necessarily fix the problems that we are encountering...our mind cannot fix a flat tire, it cannot stop the rain, it cannot cool the temperature, it cannot stop the wind, but it can change the way we perceive these challenges and how we react to them.
The key is to stay away from negative thoughts and negative emotions.
If you cannot find any positive thoughts, then don't think!!!
Better not to think then to fill your head with negativism, especially when you are already dealing with a tough situation.
Quiet your mind and just do what you need to do right there at that precise moment.
Soon you'll start seeing things differently...you'll react better...and the race will turn into a positive experience...with better results!
