  2. Customers order products online by Sunday night.
  3. Products are delivered to school every Wednesday.
  4. Customers pick up produce in designated area or 5th grade will deliver products. (We are still working this part out.)

Calling All Artists!

The PTA Reflections art program is back!

Every Walnut Grove student is encouraged to enter one or more pieces of art in the categories listed below.

The National PTA's Reflections program encourages students in pre-K through grade 12 to explore and become involved in the arts.

The theme for the 2014-2015 school year is

"The world would be a better place if..."

Thousands of students will reflect on the theme and create original works of art in the following categories:

  • Dance choreography
  • Film production
  • Music composition
  • Literature
  • Photography
  • Visual arts
In late October, Walnut Grove will have a small ceremony acknowledging every student's artwork entry. More information, including rules for entry and entry forms, can be found on the California PTA website.

Deadline to drop off WG Reflections entries:
Friday, October 10 in the office.

SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES FORUM

Date: Monday, October 6, 2014
Time: 7 pm
Place: Pleasanton Unified School District Board Room, 4665 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton

The Pleasanton PTA Council and the League of Women Voters of Livermore-Amador Valley are co-sponsoring a School Board Candidates Forum, Monday, October 6, beginning at 7:00 pm, in the Pleasanton Unified School District Board Room, located at 4665 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton.

All 4 candidates -- Jeff Bowser, Joan Laursen, Mark Miller and Paige Wright -- have been invited to participate. There are 2 open trustee seats for the Pleasanton school board in the November election.

"One of the PTA's most important objectives is to educate our members and the public on issues that affect children," says Pleasanton PTA Council President Katie Brunner, "to that end, the Pleasanton PTA Council is hosting this forum to allow community members to learn more about each PUSD School Board candidate's knowledge of issues affecting our students' education. As a nonpartisan and nonsectarian organization, we do not support or oppose any of the candidates but rather encourage the public to learn about the candidates and the issues, and to cast an informed vote."

The forum is open to the public and will be recorded. The schedule of telecasts and/or webcasts will be announced at the event.

The moderator, provided by the League of Women Voters, will give each candidate an opportunity to briefly address the audience, and then they each will be asked a series of questions. Members of the audience will then have an opportunity to ask additional questions.

For more information, please contact the Pleasanton PTA Council at www.pleasantonpta.org.

The Pleasanton PTA Council began in 2003 as an umbrella group for all PTAs in Pleasanton. The mission of the PTA is to represent their members and to empower and support them with skills in advocacy, leadership, and communication to positively impact the lives of all children and families.
