2014 Dallas County Fair
 
It's the topic of at least one song in every country music artist's repertoire- the county fair. Come see what the buzz is about on Wednesday, July 9 through Saturday, July 13. As always, ISU Extension will have a strong presence at the fair with 4-H, Clover Kids, the Extension booth, Master Gardeners and the 4-H Foundation Silent Auction. Farmland Leasing Meeting

This meeting, facilitated by ISU Extension and Outreach Farm Managment Specialist, Steve Johnson, will cover current land values, types of farm lease arrangements, strategies for writing/terminating a farm lease as well as useful tools to help determine a "fair" cash rent. This event will take place on August 4 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the ADM High School commons located at 801 Nile Kinnick Dr. South in Adel. Cost is $20/person or $30/couple. This fee includes registration and an
100-page farmland leasing book. Pre-register with the Dallas County Extension office by July 31. 
Youth Day Camp in Waukee!

Waukee Parks & Rec with ISU Extension bring you 
Rockets Away! on
July 30-31, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Ridge Pointe Pavilion. Blast off toward an action-packed adventure in math, engineering, aerospace and physics with this study of rocketry science. Activities in motion, gravity and aerodynamics will send interest soaring and lead up to the ultimate thrill of building and launching a two-liter pop bottle rocket. (Note: bring two-liter pop bottle).Cost is $40 for both days. Register here.

National research shows 4-H youth are competent, confident, connected, character-driven, caring and contributors to their communities. Members of 4-H have unique opportunities to grow and learn by doing. Interest and project areas include (but are not limited to!) communication, visual art, horticulture, child development, veterinary science, crop production, livestock, health and topics related to STEM (science-technology-engineering-math).
