The Department of Homeland Security will grant temporary protected status to people from the three West African countries most affected by Ebola who are currently residing in the United States.

Fatal Falls Prompt Cal/OSHA to Cite Bay Area Construction Firm

 

Cal/OSHA has cited Burlingame, Calif.-based Disney Construction Inc. for serious violations that allegedly contributed to the May 30 deaths of two workers. 

OSHA Imposes $1M Fine, 2 Workers Die in Mine

 

The U.S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration announced that it has imposed a fine of $1,077,800 following its investigation into the deaths of two miners at Revenue Mine on Nov. 17, 2013. The underground silver ore mine, located in Ouray County, Colorado, was operated by Star Mine Operations LLC.

OSHA Investigates More Temp Agencies 

 

Months after OSHA announced the Temporary Worker Initiative (TWI), the inspection numbers show that OSHA has been aggressively investigating temporary worker staffing agencies for compliance with OSHA requirements, and citing those agencies when violations are found.   

Pesticide Exposure Linked to Depression Among Ag Workers

 

A recent report, published in several popular science and environment magazines and websites, suggested that researchers have linked pesticide exposure with farmer suicides.
