Yesterday's Dads4Kids Special Newsletter gave you a chance to take your daughter to breakfast at the Opera House to meet Aaron Dickson, the 27-year old father of two girls and the inspiration behind the Best First Date. His YouTube below has gone viral with 8.6 million hits since its release on Father's Day in America on 23 June! Dads4Kids have brought Aaron to Australia for our Father's Day so he can share his story with us.

The founders of Dads4Kids, Warwick and Alison Marsh, whom you know well as key volunteers of the Canberra Declaration, are behind these latest initiatives of the ad and the 'Love Your Children' Father's Day Tour. They are wonderful advocates for marriage and family.
Something about this beautiful Youtube that might surprise you, are the negative comments it has been receiving! Sunrise Breakfast Show reported these in a segment aired on 17 July called Creepy or Cute? No doubt this will continue to be a major point of the secular media's coverage of this tour! (STOP PRESS: Sunrise interview was cancelled due to Joan Rivers death but a segment is still scheduled for today 10 am on Channel 9).
Yes, opposition within our modern society to the natural family and fatherhood is growing. This was seen last weekend in the attempt by anti-family and anti-life proponents to shut down the World Congress of Families Regional Event in Melbourne. Warwick himself wrote,
"Thank you for your prayers for the World Congress of Families Regional Event in Melbourne at which Alison and I had the privilege of speaking. All things being considered and the ferocious opposition the organisers and the participants encountered, it was an outstanding success. The fact that it actually occurred is the miracle. Let us continue to pray and fight the good fight of faith."
In Warwick's address he gave these tips for fathers:
- Be there.
- Give unconditional love.
- Make your children feel special.
In regard to 'Marriage and Family', the Canberra Declaration affirms,
"the longstanding institution of the natural family" and how "lifelong marriage between a man and a woman guarantees children their biological birthright to a mother and a father and has a proven track record of providing them with protection, education, welfare, support and nurture."
Yes, let us all continue to pray and fight the good fight of faith for families and especially fatherhood.
Yours for loving families in Australia,
David and Marilyn Rowsome
