The week after "50"

Like all great celebrations, there is a rush of excitement and hard work leading up to the big event, the joy of coming together in celebration with God and family, and then the letdown as you realize it's all over. We hope the blessings of a timely memorial will only be surpassed by the joys of a future going on with God.

DOWN WITH FAILURE AND UP WITH INADEQUACY

We now press on with the ministry at hand... For sure this was a busy month. We entertained the Lees, pressed on through a great week of VBS with Uncle Dean, and the month long rush of activity culminated in our 50th year celebration. Now, its time to "Breathe"... Ok... Now on to the Fall. Nothing says its Fall again like the annual start-up of AWANA Bible clubs. Make sure you attend the meeting this Wednesday. There are some big changes coming. And lastly, we have a follow-up church business meeting scheduled for Sunday. At it we will vote upon the following items:

The bids to complete the pavilion project
The bids to complete the re-roofing of the parsonage
The replacement of the refrigerator in the parsonage (quit working on Sunday). Hope to see you there.

MEN AT WORK and the God Conscious Life

This week, we'll pick up our studies of Tozer's That Incredible Christian by looking at the chapter, " Living the God Conscious life" that begins on page 65. Try to take a look at it. Good chapter... some precious nuggets of truth here. He writes,

" If God is the Supreme Good then our highest blessedness on earth must lie in knowing Him as perfectly as possible." (65)
