There has been a great response to the scholarship program for Getting to the Goal: Michigan's No Kill Conference

Applications are coming in from throughout the state and have this in common: applicants want to learn more about the No Kill movement and implement knowledge gained to save lives in their communities.

Examples include:

"I do spend a lot of my own money on rescue, fostering, and donations. I would LOVE to attend this seminar and learn what else I can do. It's not financially possible for me right now. Animal rescue and education is my passion. I want to learn as much as I can to not only help the animals but to be able to teach others."

"In our budget, we have very limited funds for conference/continuing education. We will be coming from rural Upper Michigan, so the cost of travel and lodging is also a factor.  Our shelter has newly embraced the no-kill philosophy.  The training received here will benefit the animals and help us educate the public in this area. We have taken this shelter from a 64% save rate operated by the county to a 95% save rate with this privately run organization."

"I am currently a full-time law student with two children. Between tuition and expenses, my funds are extremely limited.I am passionate about animal welfare and have been focusing my legal studies on areas that would help me be an asset to the animal welfare movement. I hope to be able to pursue a career changing animal welfare legislation for the betterment of animals and want to get as much exposure to the various issues as possible."

We don't want to turn anyone down, but have depleted our original budget for scholarships.

Can you help?

$85 will cover one full scholarship, but any amount will be greatly appreciated and used toward registration fees of those with financial challenges.
