PINKMAN ON THE MOVE!
As of Nov 1st we will have a new address

It feels like just yesterday we moved into our facility on Quicksilver. It was November 1999 in fact, however, it's time to make a change.

Effective November 1 of this year we will be moving to and conducting all of our baseball operations in the Diamond Elite Academy. Diamond elite is located directly next to the Dulles sports complex and just down the street from Sam's Club at 21598 Atlantic Blvd. #130, Dulles, VA 20166.

DE

We're moving for several reasons but mostly because of the increased traffic on 606. As most of you have sat in from time to time, we sit in it daily ourselves. We are fully aware of the inconvenience. However, that inconvenience is going to get much worse over the next four years widening into four lanes. Perhaps the most serious construction concern is the rebuilding of the damn closest to the Dulles Greenway.

We have a great opportunity to align with the Diamond Elite Academy. You may know the Diamond Elite is in the business of team building through their travel program. We on the other hand, are clinicians and instructors. Both of our companies will continue in those directions.

The Diamond Elite organization is run by two principles Ken Bukauskas and Stone Bridge Baseball Coach Sam Plank. You may have read about the incredible season that Ken's son JB enjoyed this year. We have been an intricate part of a JB's training since he was very young. This spring we all spent a lot of time together and were able to formulate a very solid and beneficial a business arrangement.

As far as you're concerned nothing really will change except the address. Our phone number and scheduling will all remain the same as they are now. Through September and October business will be conducted as it always has. Upon November 1st we continue teaching all lessons and camps at DE on Atlantic blvd.

Fall Ball

How is your ball player performing during the start of the fall season?

Take a moment and think back to how your son or daughter prepared for the spring season. Most players begin practicing in December, January or February for a March or April opening day. Did you have a similar plan for the month of August? Had it been 4-6 weeks since your ball player has picked up a bat or ball? Compare your multiple month Spring Training routine to how your going to prepare for the Fall in just a couple weeks.

The games of baseball and softball are extremely complicated and it is difficult to just jump right in to a new season after a week or days of training.

  • Did your son move up to a bigger field and/or a bigger bat?
It's going to take some time to get acclimated to these new sizes.

  • Has your ball player grown like a weed since their last time on the ball field?
Players have a tough time adjusting to a bigger field, a bigger bat, and a bigger size.

Remember, we are here to help. Every fall we see position players and pitchers with sore arms. This is due to players either:
  • not warming up properly
  • not having the strength to throw the longer distances
  • or because they haven't picked up a ball in a number of weeks
Pitchers at 12, 13, and 14 years old begin changing their mechanics to throw the ball longer and faster, and end up with pains they've never felt before. Also, with 8, 9, & 10 year olds now playing on multiple teams and bigger fields, we find their arms are becoming just as sore.

Adjusting pitching/throwing mechanics to a larger mound or field is very stressful and players need time to adapt. If your ball player is in need of a refresher or an introduction to the next level schedule a lesson via our  online schedule or download our new scheduling app and make the appointment from your phone!

Don't wait until the middle of October to ask the questions you should be asking in early August or September.

Free Lesson!

As with your Doctor, Lawyer, or other professional service, our main sources of new business are parent referrals. Through the years most parents have been proud to answer the frequently asked question, "What happened to your children, they improved so quickly?!"

We would like to show you our appreciation. We will provide you with a FREE LESSON for every student you refer who enrolls in private lessons.
