GURUS, EXPERTS, THOUGHT LEADERS AND MORE...
Where else can you find so many?

thinking_girl_idea.jpg Whether you are an event manager or a speaker on the Innovation Women platform, you have the ability to browse the speaker profiles.  Many of our speakers include "Example Talks" abstracts from recent speeches and presentations. If you've even taken a few minutes to read some of these abstracts you'll be stunned at the wide array of fascinating topics our speakers cover -- everything from getting started as an entrepreneur to privacy and cyber-security, keeping kids safe on line and building a start-up team, getting funded and building your personal wealth.

Event managers -- need inspiration?  Our speakers can help!  Speakers? For more inspiration, check out our articles below and follow us on social media.

Have a great weekend everyone!

ACCENTS AND PUBLIC SPEAKING
How does an accent affect your chances of getting a speaking gig?

quilting-world-women.jpg Recently Bobbie was a speaker at a conference in Philly. As a native upstate New Yorker who has spent the last 30 years in Boston, she likely sounded a little different than the other (local) speakers. She also doesn't have what most people think of as the typical "New Yawk" - upstate, upstate. And she hasn't yet "pahked the cah" but neither does she say "Iggles" when referencing Philadelphia's football team.

BOSTON MEMBERS: Lightning Talk + Hack Night!
Women Who Code

An old fashioned hack night but with a twist! For the first 45 minutes, members will have the opportunity to give short talks about anything. Yep, you heard it: speak about anything at all!

Take this opportunity to practice your speaking skills. The talk doesn't have to be technical and the only requirement is that others should be able to learn something from it. Following the lightning talks, the event will go back to regular hack night programming. Bring any projects you're working on or homework you have to do. Work on a code challenge from one of the many code challenge websites (codeeval, exercism.io, hackerank, etc.). Write a blog post, or just catch up on work or emails. Find out more here!
FOR EVERYONE: Confident Communicators Course

"I'd never dreamed about public speaking. I always thought it was only for extroverts and people with a lot of confidence. Femgineer's Confident Communicator Course guided me on how to speak and broke it down into action items to get to that goal. I became a better presenter!"
                                    -- Tammy Coombs, course participant

You too can take your speaking skills from OK to AWESOME with this once yearly course, beginning May 2, 2016.
  • Regular registration ends April 29, 2016
