Project Spotlight: Creating a Thought Partnership
Rev. Dr. Donna Byrns, Executive Director of Friends in Deed, one of Pasadena's truly historic nonprofits, needed an experienced mentor to help strategize and manage priorities. Jim Hilvert, a pro bono consultant at JRP, had worked in a senior HR role at a management consultant firm, and later, as an Executive Director at a nonprofit.  Melanie arranged a meeting between the two and Jim and Donna immediately hit it off.  Jim and Donna created what he called a 'thought partnership' to help make her role more manageable.   >>   Read More...

HELP US GROW!
JRP is planning to hire a part-time Program Assistant over the summer (can you hear Melanie singing 'hallelujah?')! But we need to reach our funding goal by June 30 to do so. We're so happy that more and more nonprofits want our help; your donation will increase JRP's staff to assist even more nonprofits! Thank you for your donation online at  www.jrpasadena.org/make-a-donation or by check to Jericho Road Pasadena, 75 South Grand Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105-1602.
THANK YOU!
JRP ANNUAL REPORT
What was JRP up to in 2015? Please check our Year in 15 Seconds video (okay, it's actually 18 seconds) or our full report. Many thanks to volunteer Max Rivera for designing our lovely annual report and Kevin Flood at  Vashup for creating the video!

BOARD WORKSHOP SUCCESS!
Wonderful volunteers Mitch Dorger and Judy Plunkett taught a 3-hour workshop for active board members of Pasadena-area nonprofits. 41 people from 23 nonprofits enjoyed the presentation. Comments included "I have a much deeper understanding of my role as a board member" and "I wish my whole board could get this info!" Your whole board can benefit! JRP has board coaches who will work with your board over several months to implement the best practices that your organization needs most. To get a board coach, contact Melanie at [email protected] or 626-319-6466.
HOW CAN WE THANK YOU?
JRP's skilled volunteers help hard-working nonprofits be great! JRP would like to know more about how our volunteers would like to be thanked, acknowledged and connected.
Please fill out this very brief (we promise!) survey on what will make volunteering rewarding to you. Thank you for your feedback!
