A corporate generosity challenge resulted in a $6,000 donation that Thrivent Financial recently presented to Saving Grace.
The challenge is aimed at increasing awareness and support of local nonprofit organizations across the country.
"Our local community is a place where Thrivent members live, work and worship," said Chelsie Olson, community engagement leader with Thrivent in Omaha. "We are excited to be able to support Saving Grace. It is wonderful that opportunities like this exist at Thrivent to help fund programs that contribute to the health and vitality of the Nebraska Region, making it a better place for everyone."

Donations of fresh fruit and prepared sandwiches from QuikTrip Kitchen are important to the Stephen Center's sack lunch program.
"We have a large number of people who need to go out and work, look for work or take part in outside programs to better themselves with the skills they need. We want to make sure they have something to eat when they are out and about," says Richard Couch, food services director for the Stephen Center.
At least twice a week, Saving Grace's professional drivers make a delivery to the Stephen Center in south Omaha, which offers an emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing and substance abuse treatment.
"We can serve up to 600 meals a day, three meals each for 200 people," Couch. Donations from Saving Grace's food partners supplement evening meals provided by community groups, as well as the sack lunch program.
