AUTISM RESEARCH PUTS LIMITED FOCUS ON SERVICES, LIFESPAN ISSUES
  

A new federal report finds that fewer dollars are going toward studying services and the needs of those on the spectrum as they age.  Spending on autism research across the country fell from $348.6 million in 2010 to $299.9 million in 2011 before rebounding a bit to $331.9 million in 2012, according to a new  report  from the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee, a federal advisory panel comprised of government officials and members of the autism community.

Making Food Fun for the Picky Eater
Sensory Link Pediatric Therapy is offering a specialized feeding program for 5 1/2 - 10 year olds that will provide a fun and comfortable environment for picky eaters. This 6 week session will consist of food-based/sensory activities, basic meal prep and consumption. A fun way to increase your child's comfort level with food and friends. 

Wednesdays, 5:00 - 5:45 p.m., April 27th - June 1st.

Monthly Family Drama/Theater Games
Have fun playing silly theater games with your family! The workshop welcomes everyone of all ages and is especially welcoming to those with special needs.  

Every first Saturday of the month (beginning April 2nd), 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m., Arcade Comedy Theater, 811 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 (parking available at garage across the street).
Workshops are free, but $10 donations are accepted per family for future events.
