High in the hills of the Corbires, in a stunning corner of south west France, Chteau Trillol has been the Sichel family property since 1990. At 400m above sea level, the vineyard is located in two of the Corbires terroirs: Termens and Quribus. Here the local grape varieties, Grenache, Syrah and Carignan (harvested by hand), result in an authentic wine that is packed with character and a strong sense of place.

I think it is easy to love the wines of Corbieres and particularly Chateau Trillol due to its dense red and black fruit, soft tannins, dried spice and ripe fruity acidity. This is an affordable everyday wine that could easily be part of a finer meal.

Enjoy!

2010 Chateau Trillol Corbieres - Languedoc, France

Regularly $16.99, Special Offer Price $14.44

Cheese Pairing: Beemster Goat Gouda, $19.99/lb

Beemster Goat Gouda is aged for 4 months, developing a wonderfully clean, sweet taste and smooth texture. Decidedly different from fresh chevre, this cheese is sure to please even those who are not goat cheese connoisseurs, making it the perfect cheese for serving to friends and family. This gouda pairs nicely with the Chateau Trillol Corbieres because the sweet cream taste balances the dark red and black fruit notes found in this wine. I enjoy bringing this gouda to a family get together because it converts goat cheese haters to goat cheese enthusiasts!
