Construction Installer Career Program Meet & Greet - May 19, 2016
In our travels across the province, we recently made contact with the McBride Career Group in Calgary. They offer a unique program in partnership with SAIT that I believe has potential value for Landscape Alberta members. McBride offers a 21 week in-class program for residential and commercial installers and services that focuses on a wide variety of construction areas, including landscape carpentry (fence & deck) as well as siding, doors, drywall and more. The program includes First Aid and WHMIS training, and is geared towards unemployed and second career individuals. McBride is looking to partner with Landscape Alberta members to offer the three (3) week unpaid work experience term to its students. McBride covers WCB and the positions are eligible for the Canada Albert Job Grant.

With the changes to the labour market, this is a great opportunity to access individuals with a variety of skills that may be keen to explore alternate career paths. McBride Career Group is hosting a Meet & Greet on May 19 at SAIT. See the attached invitation for details.
