Folsom Gets in Gear for Bike Month
The month of May is an opportunity to celebrate the "power of the pedal" and enjoy the many benefits of cycling. It's time to dust off your bikes, pump up your tires and join your neighbors and co-workers in bicycling for work, school, shopping, recreation or training this May during the Sacramento region's 12th Annual May is Bike Month campaign. Anyone who lives or works in the greater Sacramento region is encouraged to join the 2 million mile challenge and log miles online at www.MayIsBikeMonth.com. Cyclists can also enjoy a number of special events throughout the region this month. Regional cycling activities can be found on the May is Bike Month website, and some of Folsom's favorite bike-friendly events are listed below.

E. Bidwell Street Work Begins Tonight
Beginning tonight, crews will begin work on the final phase of the E. Bidwell Street Widening Project, located between Oak Avenue Parkway and Broadstone Parkway. The pavement on E. Bidwell Street will be repaired and resurfaced to improve the drivability and extend the lifespan of the heavily-traveled corridor. The project also includes traffic signal system upgrades, irrigation installation, roadway striping and new energy-efficient LED street lights. Most of the work will take place over a six-week period between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. to minimize traffic impacts. For more information about the project, contact Public Works Project Manager Ryan Chance at 916-355-8346 or [email protected].
