Upcoming Events at Heritage Oak Winery
April and May 2016
Dear Friends,

I've made it two-thirds of the way through April without frost, hail or other adverse conditions screwing things up. If I can just get through May, the weather will settle down to "predictable".  That's all I ask.

In the meantime, to keep me from worrying about what I can't control, we've got a few things going on.  Hope you can come out and enjoy a few moments with us.  See below for details.

At 1 PM we will have music by Marty Cohen and the Sidekicks performing favorite songs from the '60's and 70's. Guests are invited to bring their own food and enjoy the afternoon in our covered area behind the winery.

As an option to bringing your own meal, treat the mothers in your life to something special with a box lunch picnic from The Corner Scone Bakery in Lodi. Use the attached order form to order your lunches by May 4 and they will be here waiting for you when you arrive. The meals are $10 apiece and include your choice of sandwich or wrap, choice of salad and choice of dessert. Wine is sold separately.

2012 Block 5 Zinfandel

HEY...Everybody... LISTEN UP! I've got some important news, especially for all you dedicated and loyal fans of the Heritage Oak Winery 2012 Block 5 Zinfandel. I just have to let you know that we are down to about 10 or maybe 12 cases of this great friend. And more importantly, there is none stashed and there is none aging in the back of the barrel room. I mean none, no mas, nada, ninguno -- no 2013, 2014 or 2015. This means that for a few years, at least, we are going to have to do without this wonderfully complex wine. You see Tom got an offer on the Block 5 Zinfandel grapes that he could not refuse (OOH!!! Shades of the Godfather!) and he sold it off for a couple of years in a row.

So, what's it all add up to? It means for at least the next couple of years we won't have this Zinfandel with its wonderfully deep dark color, dark, dark fruit aromas, all that leather on the tongue and that peppery spicy finish. A fabulous wine, and a perfect pairing for a pepper steak done on the grill. So, I am writing to tell you to stock up before venerable ole Block 5 is gone for a year or two.

But, not to fear. We still have all of Tom's other Zins available right now and aging gracefully in the barrel room for the near future. I had a discussion with a visitor today who asked me, "If you were going to just sit down and enjoy a Zinfandel what would you choose?" Definitely an interesting question. I suggested, and she sampled, the 2013 Block 14 Zinfandel and the 2013 Bartlam Zinfandel. Both met her criteria for a fine sipping Zinfandel and I happen to agree.

So come on by the tasting room and have a taste of all of Tom's fine Zinfandels. Enjoy the wines -- there is one for every moment. And grab a couple of extra bottles of the 2012 Block 5 Zinfandel before we say, "Adios mi  amigo viejo".
Vendors Needed for Art Fair

To be held Saturday, June 18th , from 11 to 5 PM

One final comment... I'm looking for a few more vendors for our Art Fair coming up this June on Father's Day weekend. Anyone who makes something creative is welcomed to participate. In the past we've had wood workers, bead workers, photographers, jewelers, quilt makers, soap makers and even a guitar maker. If you would like to show your creations or know of someone who would, please forward this message onto them.

Interested vendors should download the Art Fair Event Over View and Enrollment Form here.
