Dear Friend,
I have just returned from Israel after participating in a conference on global anti-Semitism and meeting with government officials and other key leaders.
I want to share with you my impressions of being in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, witnessing firsthand the resiliency of the Israeli people, as air raid sirens wailed to warn of incoming rockets. There was no panic as people sought out the nearest shelter or safe space. And after the all- clear was given, everyone went back to what they were doing before the sirens sounded.
My wife Alicia and I were in our hotel in Jerusalem for the second alert. We, with many others, walked quickly to the basement safe room and waited. I couldn't help but think at that moment what the reaction would be in cities throughout the United States and Europe if their citizens were subjected to the same type of terror day in and day out.
Standing with our fellow Jews in Israel - showing solidarity - is more important than ever. NCSEJ will continue to work with our organizational partners to do everything possible to demonstrate our support for the future well-being of the State of Israel.
Sincerely,
Mark B. Levin
Executive Director
