Queen Meron Wudneh Miss Africa USA and Mama Sara Obama, Sunday Nov 23 2014 in Washington DC

A SPECIAL AFTERNOON TEA CEREMONY IN HONOR OF
MAMA SARA OBAMA,
GRAND MOTHER OF PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA.

Seasons Greetings,

It is a great delight and honor to share with you an awesome encounter with Mama Sara Obama, CEO of the Mama Sara Obama Foundation for children.  It was a great honor to have been invited by the President of Global Women's Initiative, none other than the dynamic Rev. Dr. Marcia Dyson to the Afternoon Tea ceremony with Mama Sara Obama, who was visiting the United States from Kenya.  Mama Sara Obama was recently honored at the United Nations during Women's Entrepreneur Day for her great work with her Foundation that fosters education of children in Kenya.  At 94 years of age she is still very strong and active.

Also invited to the Tea Ceremony with Mama Sara Obama, were a selected number of very dynamic women leaders from the DC Metro area. Mama Sara was introduced to everyone and learned about their service. She thanked the women for being great leaders and encouraged all to continue doing a good job for their communities.

Miss Africa USA said she felt very honored and inspired by Mama Sara's work with children and that gives her a lot of encouragement to continue working with children affected by HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia and Africa.

Mama Sara Obama and Lady Kate Ndi, Founder of Miss Africa USA and Governor's Commissioner for African Affairs, Maryland.

The Tea Ceremony was covered by BET International and Miss Meron was interviewed about her experience with Mama Sara Obama. We will let you know when the episode airs on BET International.
