How Does AgConnect Impact Agriculture?

Students from ten schools throughout Berks and Chester Counties have had or will have the opportunity to explore careers in agriculture through on-farm visits! Pictured here are students from Kutztown Area High School visiting S-Pine-Lawn Farm in Fleetwood. These students learned about dairy and crop farming, enjoyed lunch at Longacre's Modern Dairy, and learned about hydroponic farming at Butter Valley Harvest in Bally. Teacher Celeste Ball emphasized how important it is for students to see first hand what they are learning about in the classroom on the farm. AgConnect was able to provide the opportunity for the students with funding from the PA Department of Environmental Protection's Environmental Education Grant Program, CCRES, Chester County Workforce Investment Board, and Educational Improvement Tax Credits.
