DREAM Volunteers Invade the North Coast!

DREAM has over 10 years of experience hosting international student volunteer groups, working alongside local communities, adding much needed infrastructure, a big boost to the local economy, and spreading the best cultural exchange possible. This past month, we hosted more than 250 volunteers through our partners at Ramapo College, University of Maryland and S-trip! These volunteers are our extended family and we thank them all for putting service ahead of all else!
Harvard DREAMs too...

The National Dominican Student Conference will be held at Harvard University March 28-30, 2014. Silent auction proceeds will benefit the DREAM Project and participants are encouraged to make donations of Spanish children's books to support our library projects. Click here to learn more!
Deportes Para la Vida
Welcomes 53 New Coaches!

DREAM Project and Peace Corps held 2014's first DPV Training of Trainers this month in Rancho Campeche, San Cristbal. We trained and certified 53 new coaches (31 male and 22 female) in the DPV methodology. Throughout the training, youth and community leaders participated in discussions about important issues including HIV/AIDS, STD/STIs, adolescent pregnancy, alcohol and drug abuse, risky sexual relations, gender-based violence and more. These certified coaches will deliver the interactive, educational DPV course to youth across the country throughout 2014. A big KILO to all of our new coaches!
Miss RD US and Miss Mundo Dominicana Deliver Book Drive

We are proud to be the official charity of Miss RD US and had a great day with Pace University student AND Miss Republica Dominicana US, Thatiana Daz. Our kids also hosted Miss Mundo Dominicana US, Brbara Santana, reading the books for our DREAM Public Libraries and learning how beauty and education make the perfect combo. Special thanks to all who donated books through Miss RD US. We are so proud to Partner and promote high quality education together!
Once an Educator, Always...

Our favorite retired Sussex County educators recently paid us a visit with a special donation, school supplies and sports equipment. Donations were collected from members of the Sussex County Education Association, active and retired, as well as students in Julie Wilson's class at Hopatcong High School. Thank you all so much for your support each year and continued impact on young learners!
Beyond the Beach Does it Again!

DREAM offers high quality education for more than 4,000 children as young as 2 years of age, but at the top of our pyramid is the Beyond The Beach Foundation University Scholarship. Our current recipient, Katherine Sanchez, is in her third year of studying Accounting in UTESA, receiving straight As and working at Carib Wind Center. This is why we DREAM and we love our friends at BTB.
DREAMers of the Month
Yann Reynaud & Yefri Martinez

Yann Reynaud joined the DREAM family in September 2012, bringing an incredibly high level of energy and commitment to the team. Since his arrival, Yann has used his dynamic personality in various leadership positions with the A Ganar, DPV, and Summer Camp programs. Yann's ability to inspire others through his relentless drive for results has motivated the rest of the team to follow his example of dedicating 100% to any task.

Yefri Martinez is an enthusiastic and dedicated leader who is willing to give a helping hand wherever it is needed. Yefri is a trained DPV coach, and has also contributed his talents by teaching sports classes, leading group activities with DREAM students, and supporting international service learning teams. A recent high school graduate, Yefri is a positive role model for other youth in the community and is destined to be a great leader in DREAM!
