Fairfax Voted Best Town in Marin - - - Again!
 

The annual Pacific Sun "Best in Marin" poll results placed Fairfax, for the fourth year in a row, as Best Marin Town, Not Your Own.
 

Town Center Plan - Workshop

 

On Saturday May 17th, from 9:00am to 1:00pm in the Women's Club, the Fairfax Town Council will be holding the first community workshop to focus on development issues in the Town Center area.

The Board held a retreat early this year to develop strategic goals for how the Chamber can increase benefit to the town's business community.
 
Board meetings are held on the last Thursday of every month at the Fairfax Library, from 6:30-8:00pm.  Board meetings are always open to Chamber Members.

Events

Fairfax Brewfest
The Chamber hosted two events in the past month, the Annual Fairfax Brewfest and the Spring Mixer. Both were successful.

The Brewfest is a Chamber fundraiser and was a sold out event with over a thousand participants.


Chamber Spring Mixer
The Mixer, also with a full capacity attendance presented members of the board of the new Marin Museum of Bicycling that is now slated to open this summer on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Joe Breeze, Otis Guy and Marc Vendetti spoke about their vision for the museum and its place in the Fairfax  community.

2014 "Only In Fairfax" Guide
     Ad Deadline:  May 9th 
    
Issue Date:  June 6th

The joint effort by the Pacific Sun and the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce to produce the next "Only in Fairfax" guidebook is well under way. 
It will be inserted into thousands of Pacific Suns on June 6th, and many more will be given away at the Fairfax Festival the following weekend. 
It will also be distributed by the Marin County Visitors & Convention Bureau, become part of the Town of Fairfax's welcoming package to new residents, and will be available at  businesses around town.

The Chamber of Commerce is asked from time to time to endorse various people and issues. 
With the ease of email-based polling, the Chamber can have its members vote directly. 

Here are the results of the poll which closed earlier this week.

Measure A on the June 3, 2014 ballot to provide funding for the Marin County Free Library?

2. Increase compliance with food safety laws

MBA Candidate Offering
Free Energy Surveys
Gwen Corrie, an MBA candidate in Sustainable Enterprises at Dominican University is offering free energy surveys to small businesses as part of the Net Impact Chapter at Dominican University.  The program may help uncover energy bill savings.
