Letter from the President

Summer is here and that means a few things for the Southlake Women's Club. First of all, it means that your new board began working for you on June 1st for the upcoming year; we look forward to working with so many dynamic and special women! It also means that the School Supply Committee is hard at work getting ready for the SWC School Supply Sale on August 9th for children that go to the participating Carroll ISD schools. In the past 15 years, we have raised over $300,000!

I am learning that just because the kids are out of school, that doesn't mean SWC women and committees aren't meeting and out working in the community! It's only June and so far we had a golf team and volunteers at the Metroport Meals on Wheels Golf Tournament, Community Outreach members making lunches for GRACE "Feed Our Kids" program, and a spectacular social on the rooftop patio at Del Frisco's in Southlake Town Square! Thanks to everyone for your hard work all year long and take a look at the photos - we are having fun doing it!

We will keep you informed of upcoming volunteer opportunities and socials this summer through a newsletter, but feel free to email me at [email protected] if you have questions as I look forward to getting to know all of you! For the latest news and photos, "Like" Southlake Women's Club on Facebook. It is my sincere hope that each of you takes some time for yourself and with your family to enjoy the slower, more relaxed days of summer - it always ends as fast as it begins for me!

I am truly excited and honored to be your President !

Social Committee - Suzette Mueller
A huge thank you goes out to Del Frisco's restaurant for providing the perfect venue and delicious appetizers for our recent June social, held on their newly opened upstairs patio. No worries if you couldn't make the event, we are already planning our next social. Be sure to save the date of Wednesday, August 20th, with more information to follow as the date draws closer. In the meantime have a safe and enjoyable summer!

School Supply Sale - Jennifer Barry

The annual SWC School Supply Sale is scheduled for Saturday, August 9th and we need your help!  Please go online to the SWC site and  register to volunteer. Shifts begin at 6:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.  You will be assisting with pack distribution and organization, as well as processing payments.  This is my first year doing this and I would love to have as many helping hands as possible to help make the sale successful!  I look forward to seeing you all there.

Funding Committee - Kathy Talley

Thank you to all that helped put together and deliver lunches to the GRACE "Feed Our Kids Program". Over 50 children received a healthy, nutritious lunch every day for a week in June.

Suzette Payne and Terri Messing help pack lunches!
