You'll have the chance to pick squash (quantities limited!) and basil, plus baby kale, baby collards and baby chard, or mix the three.
Our Farm Stand will run the same days and hours as the

Credit cards, cash, checks and SNAP EBT will be accepted for produce at both the U-Pick and the Farm Stand! The Fresh Bucks matching program will match SNAP as well.

Liz Laughlin
Right time, right place? Was meant to be? For the past months or years, I had been searching for something more personally fulfilling. I was not totally sure what that even looked like or felt like, but I knew there was more out there for me.
A native of Cape Cod, Mass, I am 36 years old and recently wrapped up an amazing and successful 10-year career brewing beer.
On the last day of the Indy Winter Farmers Market, I stumbled upon Growing Places Indy's booth and chatted with a gal about her past experiences being an apprentice with Growing Places Indy.
What initially intrigued me was to learn more farming skills and about others involved in community farming. But in the first week, I have learned so much more than farming.
The Growing Places Indy motto is Grow Well, Eat Well, Live Well, Be Well, and we are learning exactly that through weekly workshops in communication and truth with a practice called Utthita Vishuddha, daily yoga and meditation, daily emotional and physical group check-in and team building skills.
What the next nine weeks mean to me are about building friendships, communicating more effectively and openly and becoming emotionally present and connected.
I know I want to become a better farmer, and, more importantly, a better person. I am going to sign out with something Growing Places Indy Executive Director Laura Henderson read to the apprentices: "With personal difficulties, we will continue to learn and grow."
